Private Health Insurance Reforms
Associate Professor Matthew Scott-Young met the Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt to discuss the changes to private health insurance. Dr Scott-Young was pleased to get confirmation that ALL spinal surgery will now be covered under the new Silver health insurance band. This means spinal fusions and disc replacements will no longer be restricted to the top level of cover.
“That is going to make a huge difference to everyday Australians who can’t afford to increase their level of cover and were faced with the possibility of having to drop their insurance and join the queue in the public system.” – Assoc Prof Scott-Young.
