Orthopaedic Surgeon (Spine)

 

Assist Prof Laurence McEntee completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2002 and obtained his post graduate qualification as an orthopaedic surgeon from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. Assist Prof McEntee completed the Allamanda Private Hospital Spinal Fellowship under the supervision of Assoc Prof Matthew Scott-Young.  The fellowship is an Australian Orthopaedic Association accredited fellowship in spine surgery. 

At the completion of his fellowship, Assist Prof McEntee commenced private practice in association with Assoc Prof Scott-Young at Gold Coast Spine, located  at Southport Central, and his operating sessions are performed at Pindara Private Hospital.  Assist Prof McEntee does not hold an appointment at a public hospital.

Assist Prof McEntee specialises in anterior approaches to the spine as well as minimally invasive approaches to the posterior spine.  He also participates on the Pindara Private Hospital orthopaedic trauma on call roster.  Assist Prof McEntee accepts private patients as well as Department of Veteran Affairs Gold/White Card holders and patients involved in workers compensation claims. 

Assist Prof McEntee is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.  He is also a certified independent medical examiner with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (AMEB).
